Why a Women’s Circle?
Hi friend, I wonder if you’ve been wondering what HEAL is really about. I’ve shared so much info, trying to check the boxes and anticipate the questions and quandaries, that I think I may have missed really sharing the heart of it (having to sell oneself will do that to ya).
HEAL is a women’s circle that grew out of course I was creating. The focus of the course was and is a true passion of mine: Overcoming self-limiting beliefs. The thoughts of ourselves that are at the core of our being that dictate what we do and what we do not do, the patterns we find ourselves in life, the ways we cope, for better or worse. I love helping people identify and understand their subconscious beliefs, to find neutrality where there is self-judgment, compassion where there is criticism. While I love this work, I love doing it TOGETHER. Having the support, the person to reflect with you, to reality check and see a perspective that you might not be able to see for yourself, that is priceless. A course can’t do that. A live course would allow me to teach and explain, but what about the application of the learning, what about the CONNECTION? And here is where HEAL: A Women’s Circle was born.
A women’s circle is a special thing. It’s a safe place to share and to be heard without judgment or advice giving, so we don’t have to have all the answers, it’s a practice in true listening. Circles are a place to open up without the need to process, just to acknowledge what is and for it to be held for you by others so you don’t have to be alone with it. Circles allow the kind of introspection and connection that we don’t get everyday. They are also a space for laughter, lightness and levity when things are hard and heavy. Circles give us a place to ground, to refocus, to find direction. I have been lucky enough to come upon some amazing women over the years that have allowed circles like these to be a part of my life. I want to share the experience with you. It’s a real treasure.
HEAL brings this together with the addition of things we really want and need in a course. We will have a platform for self-study, learning, and resources, then it goes a step further to offer time to come together, to take what we are learning into application and what we are really needing support on in the moment into account. My hope is that this format allows you to give attention to what needs your attention right now, as opposed to forcing your way through course content. In this way, we’ll apply learning and practices together to take care of ourselves along the way.
Our circles will have a focus that ties into our week to week course work. Our Practice calls are there to give you extra support, a little more guidance, some new resources for coping and good company to boot. If you ask me, everything is better together. I could just record the practices, but let’s be honest, would you really want to do them as much? I’d rather sip tea together, practice a little yoga, breathwork, or writing in good company than to stare at my computer screen alone. They’ll be recorded as well for those who prefer to practice on their own time. We’ll keep the conversation going in SLACK where we’ll check in, ask for accountability, and share the things that are lifting our spirits as we move through this work.
In HEAL I would expect equal parts vulnerability and laughter, a few tears (both happy and sad) and the opportunity to feel all those feelings that you otherwise might be bottling up (or feeling disconnected from). Your whole self is welcome here; no editing, no masks, no perfection or performance needed. I hope that you’ll come as you are. I’d really love to see you.
